Amanda Barnes

Freelance writer, journalist and editor

"Hello, bonjour, hola, buo giorno, gutan tag, tungjatjeta, kaixo, ahoj, goedendag, salaam, yasu yasu, szervusz, shwmae, and oi! For anyone else who is visiting my site and cannot see your relevant greeting, I am sorry - I haven't visited your country yet. But keep checking - I intend to do so one day, and thanks for visiting!

"I am a freelance writer and traveller and as you can see I have a growing collection of greetings in different languages which I hope to improve as I persue my passion in travel, on the search for new cultures, flavours and experiences.

"The reason I 'specialise' in travel, food and wine writing is because I border on having an obsessive relationship with them all, but like all journalists I like to play with different genres and enjoy writing and working on a myriad of different projects.

"I was born in beautifully green Southern England, but am currently living (at least part time) in beautifully brown Mendoza, Argentina, where the exciting wine, jaw dropping landscapes and warm people (but sadly mediocre food) have kept me wrapped in a kaftan nestled by the Andes for the past two years.

"Welcome to my site and I hope you find something you enjoy. You are personally invited to email me your own language greeting - I love to hear from anyone other than junk mail and robots."
